Welcome to FoodVision! Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the FoodVision website or app ("Service", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Service.

1. Use of Our Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use FoodVision. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and not misuse, hack, or interfere with the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities under your account.

2. Free Plan Features

Enhanced Free Trial: New users receive a 3-day unlimited trial with full access to all features including text analysis, camera food scanning, photo uploads, and barcode scanning. After the trial, users receive 3 analyses per day (text OR camera) with basic nutrition tracking and AI-powered food identification.

3. Usage Limits & Fair Use Policy

Free plan users are entitled to a 3-day unlimited trial upon signup, after which usage is limited to 3 analyses per day. An "analysis" includes text-based food queries, camera scans, photo uploads, and barcode scans. We reserve the right to monitor usage and prevent abuse, including but not limited to automated requests, account sharing, or attempts to circumvent usage limits.

4. Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

4.1 Subscription Plans & Pricing

FoodVision offers the following auto-renewable subscription plans:

• Monthly Premium: $9.99/month — Unlimited food analyses, advanced nutritional insights, and priority support.
• Annual Premium: $99.99/year (equivalent to $8.33/month) — All monthly benefits with annual billing.

Pricing may vary by region and is subject to applicable taxes. Current pricing is displayed in the app before purchase.

4.2 Payment & Renewal

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

4.3 Managing & Canceling Subscriptions

You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your device settings:

• iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → FoodVision
• Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → FoodVision

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until the subscription expires.

4.4 Free Trial

New users may be eligible for a 3-day free trial of premium features. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will automatically be charged the subscription fee and your subscription will begin.

4.5 Refunds

All subscription purchases are processed through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. Refund requests must be made directly through the respective platform within their refund policy timeframes. FoodVision does not have access to process refunds directly. To request a refund from Apple, visit Apple's support page.

4.6 Changes to Subscription Pricing

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with at least 30 days notice. Existing subscribers will be notified of any price changes and must explicitly accept the new pricing before renewal. You may cancel your subscription before the price change takes effect.

5. Service Evolution

FoodVision is continuously evolving. We may introduce premium subscription options in the future to provide enhanced features and unlimited access. Current free users will receive advance notice of any service changes and will maintain access to their current plan features.

6. Data Processing & Privacy

We process your food images and text queries through our AI systems to provide nutritional analysis. Images are processed temporarily and not permanently stored unless you save them to your account. We do not share your personal data with third parties except as required by law or to provide our services.

7. AI-Powered Analysis Disclaimer

FoodVision uses artificial intelligence to analyze food items and estimate nutritional content. While we strive for accuracy, AI analysis may occasionally produce incorrect results. Our service provides estimates for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Always consult healthcare professionals for personalized dietary guidance. Sussex Endocrine Clinic LTD assumes no liability for decisions made based on AI-generated information.

8. Service Availability

We aim to maintain high service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or improvements. We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or add features at any time with reasonable notice.

9. Content and Accuracy

FoodVision provides estimated nutritional analysis based on AI predictions and databases. Results are approximate and may vary from actual values. Content is for informational purposes only and not intended for medical use or precise calorie counting for medical conditions.

10. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, logos, and content are the property of FoodVision and its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without express written permission. You retain ownership of your uploaded content but grant us a license to process it for service provision.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FoodVision and Sussex Endocrine Clinic LTD are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or misuse of the Service. Upon termination, your access to premium features ends immediately, though you may retain access to downloaded data. You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. For significant changes affecting your rights or obligations, we will provide additional notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
